There is no better feeling then defeating your mates in the Big Bash Fantasy League. It’s exciting, competitive and becomes almost like a religion to all us fantasy lovers out there.

With the first head-to-head round kicking off this week, you can’t go past Melbourne Renegade superstar Aaron Finch. I had him in my side and I regret not picking him as captain. Finch finished with a total of 163 for the week.

Also, another player to look out for this week is my team mate Brad Haddin. If he isn’t already in your side, jump at the opportunity straight away. Hadd’s also wicket keeps and will gain more points with catches and stumpings. At $55,000, Brad Haddin is a player that must be in your side.

Thankfully, the first round of the BBL was a trial for the Fantasy League so if you had players that you thought were disappointing, this week is your last chance at trading them off before you face your mates.

As much as we love him, Shane Warne is the type of player who could make or break a game for your side. His zero last week was a shock to all of us fantasy lovers. At the moment, I’d hang on to the king of spin but keep a close eye on him.

If you have Ricky Ponting, make sure he is fit and healthy before you start him in the 11. Fortunately for me, there were no head-to-head fixtures this week.

Don’t forget that players prices rise and fall so make sure you make the right move financially. Players prices like Herschelle Gibbs and David Hussey will plummet if they don’t score big on a consistent basis.

Buy of the Week: Aaron Finch (Melbourne Renegades)

Dan’s Demons hunch: Ricky Ponting to score big in his first game for the Hurricanes.
