Far from the golden boys of the Big Bash League, but with golden results on the field so far, the Sydney Sixers take on the Perth Scorchers at the SCG on Sunday night looking to extend their unbeaten run to thirteen wins in a row.

The last time the two teams met was in last year’s Big Final in Perth and it was the Sixers who came out on top as the BBL|01 Champions.

This time the Scorchers will make the long trip across Australia to the SCG to take on a Sixers outfit full of confidence and ready to make a big impact in BBL|02.

While the Sixers have only played one match so far this season, their seven-wicket thumping of the Sydney Thunder last weekend, the Scorchers are yet to record a win from two matches.

After a disappointing start for the Scorchers, the Sixers will be weary of a Perth side ready to get their season back on track. Boasting big name including Herschelle Gibbs, Marcus North, Simon Katich, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Adam Voges and Brad Hogg, the Sixers won’t be underestimating their opponent’s ability.

But Sydney’s men in magenta are not a team easily put off.

Having built a strong reputation in the last twelve months as a team who does not rely on just a couple of stars, the Sixers will aim to continue in this way on Sunday night.

One to watch

The Sixers were joined by West Indian off-spinner Sunil Narine this week and the 24-year-old whiz kid from Trinidad and Tobago will be one of the players to watch this season. Narine was named Player of the Tournament at this year's IPL and is sure to make an impact for the Sixers.

Where to next

The Sixers head to Melbourne next week to take on the Stars  (21 Dec) before heading to Adelaide where they meet the Strikers next Friday (23 Dec). The Sixers’ next home match is on Boxing Day and the SCG is set to go off when the Sixers play host to Ricky Ponting and the Hobart Hurricanes.
