Sixers Captain Ellyse Perry has topped the ICC’s ODI Player Ranking for All Rounder’s after the league phase of the Women’s World Cup concluded over the weekend.
Perry, who was previously ranked second behind Stafanie Taylor from the West Indies, lept to the front of the list after an impressive series with the bat that has seen her score more than a half century each time she has taken to the crease.
Her stellar batting has also seen her jump to a career best third in the Batters rankings, up three spots with an average of 51.47.
The tournament has proved fruitful for another of the Sixers stars, with South Africa’s Dane van Niekerk jumping 14 places in the bowling rankings to see her now sit fifth overall.
Van Niekerk is currently the leading bowler in the tournament, taking 15 wickets over six matches, including a brilliant 4/0 in their match against the West Indies.
South African and Sixers team mate Marizanne Kapp maintains her top spot in the Bowler’s ODI rankings, having taken 12 wickets already for this tournament.
Kapp and Van Niekerk also feature in the top five All Rounders with Marizanne remaining at third and Dane jumping two spots to fourth.
South Africa will take on England tomorrow night in the ICC Women’s World Cup semi final, with Australia taking on India on Thursday night.
The winner will be crowned on Sunday night.
