One of the most exciting fast bowlers in Australia, Josh Hazlewood is back in the Magenta for BBL|06.
The Sixers Player of the Tournament for their 2012 CLT20 campaign, Hazlewood is known for his calmness under pressure and is able to take quick wickets as well as dry up the runs of an opposition. Hazlewood was the youngest fast-bowler ever to be selected for NSW when he made his debut as a 17-year-old and was just 19 when he made his Aussie debut at ODI level.
He was on the brink of Test selection in December 2012 before injury forced him out of the Australia Squad, and now at 25 has represented his country in all three formats of the game.
Born in Bendemeer, a small town near Tamworth with just a few hundred people, Hazlewood was a national Javelin champion in his early teens, and was also handy at shot put and discus. He went to a small Primary School with 30 students - including his brother and sister & where his mum taught. It was a rude shock when he moved on to a High School with 1200 kids!
