The Sydney Sixers welcome back 2012 CLT20 Golden Bat winner and English representative Michael Lumb for his fourth season in the magenta for BBL|04. The powerful opening batsman has called Sydney home for the first three seasons of the Big Bash League, and used his strong form in last year’s tournament to propel himself into the England ODI squad, where he scored a memorable century on debut against the West Indies - Sixers fans will be excited to see his name at the top of the order again this summer!
After growing up in South Africa, ‘Lumby’ moved to England in his late teens to play for Yorkshire – a club where his father played 245 first class matches and scored over 11,000 runs in a prolific career. One of the most experienced players in the Sixers line-up, Lumb has played over 176 first class matches, 197 List A games and 176 domestics T20 matches. He has also represented England in 14 T20 Internationals.
