Hughes leading run-scorer in Marsh Cup

Sixers top order batsman Daniel Hughes has remained the leading run-scorer in the Marsh One-Day Cup after the Final between champions Western Australia and Queensland on Tuesday.

The left-handed batsman made 440 runs in seven matches for the NSW Blues at the excellent average of 73.33 finishing 31 runs clear of Australian One-Day and T20 captain Aaron Finch.

One of his two centuries was Hughes’ highest One-Day domestic score, a match-winning 152 from 143 balls against Western Australia at Drummoyne Oval on 2 October. 

Last season, Hughes was also the leading run-scorer for the Sixers with 399 runs, from 15 matches, striking at 130.

Sixers captain Moises Henriques and Hughes were among seven batsmen to score more than 300 runs during the 2019 Marsh Cup.

Henriques made 310 at 44.28 including a highest score of 98.
