Billings ready to go all the way with Sixers in BBL|07

04 December 2017

Middle-order batsman Sam Billings is hopeful the Sixers can go one step further this year and win the BBL after missing out in last year's Big Final against the Perth Scorchers.

Billings missed out on playing the BBL finals last season due to commitments with England Cricket and while he's not sure if he and fellow Englishman Jason Roy will be “whisked off” to play international cricket again this summer, Billings said he wants to make as big an impact as possible while he is available.

Only arriving at the Sydney Sixers last year, Billings has praised the culture of the club and his teammates saying the team is something he’s found great to be a part of.

“I think the boys played fantastic all through the year last year. It was great to see so many different people put their hands up, it wasn’t just one bloke stepping up the whole time,” Billings said.

“I think the team ethic last year was fantastic so it’s only going to improve this year as well."

Even though he only got a taste of the BBL with five games last year, Billings believes this is the most enjoyable tournament in the world and can’t wait to entertain the crowds this summer.

“This is a great tournament to play in, probably the best in the world. For us, it’s great to be here, great to get the opportunity again and hopefully showcase what we can do and that’s the key.”

The BBL|07 and WBBL|03 is now less than a month away, check out where you can catch the Sixers play this summer here.
