Sixers finish season on winning note

01 December 2019

Sixers stand-in captain Alyssa Healy freed the arms on Sunday at Hurstville Oval smashing 84 from just 38 balls in a 13-run win over the Adelaide Strikers to finish WBBL|05 one win outside finals in fifth.

After the Melbourne Renegades put an end to the Sixers finals hopes on Sunday morning with their win over the Sydney Thunder, Healy unleashed with seven sixes, and as many fours, in a total of 7/177.

Despite the best efforts of New Zealand allrounder Sophie Devine with 60 from 38, the Sixers reversed the previous day’s result, restricting the Strikers to 7/164 in reply.

Jodie Hicks took a blinder just in front of square to remove Devine in a superb fielding performance that also included a stunning catch by Erin Burns and three run outs, including two to 17-year-old fast bowler Stella Campbell.

Campbell claimed personal best WBBL figures of 2-12 from three overs.
