In the final match of his three-game stint with the Sydney Sixers, West Indian captain Jason Holder hit 16 from the final over to defeat the Melbourne Renegades with a ball to spare on Tuesday night.
His second six of the night captured the Sixers fourth straight win. The West Indian finishing his BBL|10 campaign in magenta with 33 not out from 18 balls.
The Sixers stay top of the table with the two-wicket win at Metricon Stadium following the nailbiting win against the Melbourne Stars on Boxing Day. In reply to 6/168, the Sixers made 8/169.
Opener Shaun Marsh (67 from 48) top-scored for the Renegades.
Another late flurry of runs clinched victory with 47 needed from the final four overs.
Josh Philippe (48 from 30) and Jordan Silk (31 from 23) made valuable contributions.
The match was a lot closer than the clubs’ previous meeting when the Sixers won by a record 145 runs in Hobart.
Seamers Carlos Brathwaite and Dan Christian each claimed two wickets with the ball.
