Sixers finish top of the BBL table

26 January 2021

A Bash Boost point, leading to a win against the Melbourne Stars at the MCG, has earned the Sydney Sixers hosting rights for the BBL|10 Qualifier.

Following Brisbane Heat's victory over Perth Scorchers in Adelaide, earlier on Tuesday, a Bash Boost point was all that was needed for the Sixers to finish top of the BBL|10 ladder and earn a home Qualifier final at Canberra's Manuka Oval.

The men in magenta will now play the second-placed Scorchers on Saturday to qualify for the BBL|10 Final. The Sixers went on to chase down 6/177 at the MCG finishing 5/180 with a ball to spare.

Dan Christian (49 not out from 23) and Jordan Silk (35 not out off 25) steering the Sixers home. James Vince (46 from 32) and captain Moises Henriques (38 from 29) took the Sixers past the Bash Boost target of 73 in eight overs.

Fast bowlers Ben Dwarshuis (3-27) and Sean Abbott (2-28) were the Sixers' multiple wicket takers with each bowling four overs.

Dwarshuis took his 80th BBL wicket. Despite going wicketless, Steve O'Keefe conceded a fraction more than five runs per over from his four overs.
