In the first ever regional home BBL match for the Sixers, Philippe smashed 83 not out from 52 balls during a Player of the Match performance on Sunday night.
The men in magenta chased down 177 to win with three balls to spare. The Sixers making 3/180 in reply to the Strikers 6/176 from their 20 overs.
A straight six from Tom Curran (10 not out from 3) sealing the win for the Sixers.
Early on, Philippe played the support act to some powerhouse hitting by Justin Avendano with 47 from 33 deliveries including two huge sixes.
But Philippe soon hit top gear hitting four sixes of his own and five fours.
Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood, playing his first BBL match since 2014, returned the impressive figures of 1-18 from four overs for the Sixers showing his world class.
Leg-spinner Lloyd Pope returned 2-41 from his four to take his BBL|09 tally to eight scalps averaging less than 18.
Jonathan Wells top-scoring for the visitors with 40 not out from 28 balls.
