Rain prevents result at SCG

16 January 2020

The Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes were awarded a point each after rain prevented the completion of the annual BBL Pride Party match at the SCG on Thursday night.

Play was stopped after 6.4 overs of the first innings with the Sixers 2/45. The Hurricanes earlier won the bat flip and elected to bowl.

Opener Daniel Hughes was 26 not out from 22 balls, while captain Moises Henriques remained unbeaten on 10 from eight deliveries.

The Sixers remain in second position on the BBL|09 ladder, five points behind the Melbourne Stars. Each win is worth two points.

The Sixers next match is the second Sydney Smash of BBL|09 at Sydney Showground Stadium on Saturday night.

The Sixers would like to thank every fan that made their way to the SCG on Thursday night for our Pride Party match to celebrate the diversity of our great city.
