Henriques shines with century for NSW

26 February 2018

Sydney Sixers allrounder Moises Henriques compiled a superb century for the NSW Blues in their Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania at the SCG.

Henriques' ton underpinned a dominant display with the bat from NSW who declared their first innings at 8/449.

Resurgent Henriques's unbeaten 131 from just 183 balls helped the Blues to their first 300-plus total of the season and was his first Shield century this summer. Displaying power and precision, Henriques raised his seventh first-class ton off 138 balls by crunching Simon Milenko through the off-side for a swashbuckling boundary.

Earlier, Sixers pair Nick Larkin (85) and Daniel Hughes (22) got the Blues off to an ideal start with a 52-run opening stand.

In response, Tasmania are 1/79 with Steve O'Keefe having bowled four overs for figures of 0/3 in his return from an ankle injury sustained during BBL|07. Play is yet to resume following an extended rain-delay.

Another Sixer made his return from injury over the weekend, with Jordan Silk not out on 49 for North Hobart in their Tasmanian Premier Cricket clash with University of Tasmania.

Meanwhile, in NSW Premier Cricket Will Somerville picked up 2/9 for Eastern Suburbs against Parramatta, Daniel Sams scored 64 for Randwick Petersham against Sydney and Ben Dwarshuis returned figures of 2/34 for Sutherland against Gordon.
