Hicks, who has been a member of the Sixers squad from season one, returns for her third summer in magenta, after playing six games last season.
The re-signing of Hicks continues the Sixers desire to secure many of the championship winning team from last season, including the likes of Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy and Ashleigh Gardner.
She will balance cricket training and playing with her new responsibilities with the Giants, ensuring she is up for one busy summer.
Sixers Head Coach Ben Sawyer said Jodie’s energy and enthusiasm was infectious around the team.
“It is great news that Jodie has signed with our club for another WBBL season,” he said.
“Jodie is extremely popular with our group and is an outstanding club person who does the best she can to help our team achieve success. Jodie has had limited opportunities at times but when given the chance, she has performed extremely well.
“I know that Jodie has worked hard on her skills this off season, and I am confident that she will be able to juggle a busy schedule this season with both the WBBL and AFLW.”
Hicks will relocate to Sydney from Canberra, where she is living at the moment, ahead of the WBBL opener at North Sydney Oval on Saturday 9 December.
The Sydney Sixers confirmed squad of WBBL|03 is: Ellyse Perry ©, Erin Burns, Lauren Cheatle, Ash Gardner, Alyssa Healy and Jodie Hicks.
