Jodie Hawkins has been appointed General Manager of the Sydney Sixers.
The Sixers’ Marketing and Communications Manager for the past seven seasons, Hawkins previously held similar roles with the NRL clubs the Sydney Roosters and Parramatta.
She replaces Dom Remond, who has left to pursue a leadership role in E-sports.
Announcing the appointment, Cricket NSW Chief Executive Andrew Jones said Hawkins was the ideal candidate.
“Jodie is intelligent, industrious and passionate about the Sixers,” Mr Jones said.
“She beat a high-quality field for the position following a rigorous selection process that included three rounds of interviews.
“Jodie came through the process very strongly, demonstrating clear vision, drive and intellectual dynamism.”
“With the challenge of growing the Sixers into a full home and away men’s season from this year, and a standalone WBBL next year and beyond, Jodie’s brand, marketing and promotional expertise, allied with her drive, experience and growth as a leader, made her an outstanding choice with plenty of upside to come.”
Hawkins said it is an honour to take over the reigns of the Sydney Sixers.
“Having seen the brand evolve over the past seven years, and to have been part the growth of both the BBL and WBBL from the first match, I am excited with what this next chapter brings for both myself and the Club,” Hawkins said.
“My predecessors have left a wonderful legacy and I can’t wait to continue to build on that.”
