Sixers to play WBBL semi-final in Adelaide

28 January 2018

The Sydney Sixers have been confirmed to play their WBBL semi-final against the Adelaide Strikers at the Adelaide Oval on Friday.

The team will travel to Adelaide later this week for the game that sees the Sixers take on the lower-ranked Strikers at their home ground.

Sixers General Manager Dom Remond had the following to say about the schedule.

“The Sixers are very proud to finish top of the WBBL ladder for the second year in a row," Remond said.

"Whilst we respect the decision made by Cricket Australia to play the WBBL semi-finals with the BBL, we are very disappointed that our Members and fans will not get a home fixture. We are further frustrated that we have to play a lower-ranked opposition at their home ground, nullifying any reward deserved in the WBBL tournament for finishing on top of the table.

"We understand our Members and fans would expect our WBBL team to be recognised more appropriately for all their hard work put in during the season.

"We are our confident in our ability to win anytime and anywhere, thank our Members and fans for their continued support and now have even more incentive to bring home back to back Championships"

Sydney Sixers Members and fans will be able to watch the match live on Channel 10 from 3:10pm AEDT (2.40pm ACDT).
