Following a successful ODI series victory, Alyssa Healy, Ashleigh Gardner, and Ellyse Perry all contributed to another T20I sweep.
Healy and Gardner continued their strong batting performance with half-centuries in the first match. Healy finished with 59 runs (off 35 balls) and smacked 11 fours and 2 sixes. Gardner was not out at the end of Australia’s batting innings with 63 runs (off 37 balls) and steered the team to a total of 3-195.
Healy also had an impact behind the stumps with two stumpings and a catch. Pakistan’s run chase fell short by 64 runs.
Australia restricted Pakistan to 101 runs off 19.5 overs in the second match at Kinrara Oval. Gardner and Healy teamed up for the wicket of Aliya Riaz.
Perry was not out when teammate Ellyse Villani hit the winning runs. Perry scored 16 runs (off 18 balls) and smashed a six to help her national side wrap up the series,
Australia saved their dominant performance for the final T20. Perry was involved early with a catch off Megan Schutt’s bowling. Perry got a wicket herself with a caught and bowled.
After keeping Pakistan to 8-97, Healy produced a Player of the Match performance with the bat. She smacked the white ball around the ground to a total of 67* runs (off 41 balls). Healy found the boundary 10 times and sent the ball for six twice as well. Fittingly, she hit a four to score the winning runs for Australia in just 10.2 overs.
The Australian Women’s team now prepare for the Women’s World T20 tournament in Guyana. They play two warm-up matches against England and South Africa before the completion kicks off on 9 November.
