Sixers busy in Breakers warm-ups

A host of Sydney Sixers WBBL players helped contribute to a trio of NSW Breakers trial match victories over the past week in Maroochydore with some stand out performances.

On Monday Sarah Aley put in an outstanding performance with 34 from 41 deliveries to help reach the Breakers reach a total of 237. Lauren Smith and Ash Gardner contributed to the score with Smith 30 not out from 47 balls and Gardner hitting a solid 34 from 36 deliveries.

All-rounder Carly Leeson delivered with 2-21 from 5 overs assisting the Breakers with the victory against Victoria.

Sixer’s wicket-keeper and top order batter Alyssa Healy stood out in another trial match on Wednesday against South Australia, with an impressive century for the Breakers. Healy was a valuable asset to the Breakers, guaranteeing a comfortable win as she smashed 154 from 116 deliveries before retiring.

Sixers rookie and rising star Tahlia Wilson assisted Healy in their opening partnership scoring 66 from 109 balls.

Ellyse Perry’s efforts were also commendable as she picked up figures of 2-32 and hit a solid 40 from 31 balls.

On Friday the Breakers match against Queensland was another success with Sixers player Lauren Smith scoring 38 from 34 balls and to go with figures of 1-16 alongside Gardner's 2-19 and Perry's 1-24.
