Sixers Girls Cricket League is underway

The Sixers Girls Cricket Spring League started over the weekend with our future stars taking the field.

Following the success of last year’s competition, there have been brand new leagues and clubs added to the league. Cricket NSW said it aims to offer two separate seasons so there are more opportunities for young cricketers.

The Sixers Girls Cricket League offer a Spring League before Christmas and a Summer League after Christmas. Both of these leagues run over an eight week period.

These are of the areas competing in the Sixers Girls Cricket League:

  • In the North Shore, there is a 24-team League including a new five-team Stage 1 Under 11 League.
  • The Manly-Warringah community have a 17-team League which also included a new five-team Stage 1 u11 League.
  • In the Inner West Harbour / SEJCA, they introduced a 10-team League and a new u11 Stage 1 Competition in SEJCA.
  • In the Hornsby-Kuringai area, they kicked off an inaugural League with eight teams. A new club was also added to the League.

Cricket NSW is currently working on creating more leagues in the Central Coast, Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Grafton which will all be starting later in October.

The winners of the Spring League will be presented with their winners' medal at the WBBL Opening weekend at North Sydney.
