Sixers shine on international stage

30 October 2018

Our Sixers men have been performing well at both international and domestic level over the past week.

Spin king Nathan Lyon took is first T20I wicket for Australia in the third T20 match against Pakistan in Dubai. Lyon finished with figures of 1-33 off his four overs in his second T20I.

Sixers International batsman Joe Denly proved he can do more than just bat in the Player of the Match performance for England against Sri Lanka. While batting down the order for his nation, Denly scored a solid 20 runs (off 17 balls) and crushed three boundaries.

However, he stunned Sri Lanka with four wickets to halt their run chase. He took a wicket in the first over and got the key wicket of Thisara Perera. He finished with amazing figures of 4-19 off his four overs.

A host of Sixers players have also been in action during round two of the Sheffield Shield.

Jack Edwards was reliable for NSW with 34 runs in the first innings against a tough Victorian side.

Sixers batsman Jordan Silk top scored for Tasmania in their second innings with 56 runs against WA.

Sixers players will now face-off in the third round of Sheffield Shield next week when NSW takes on Tasmania at the SCG. The game starts at 10:30am on 5 November.
