Sixers look to bounce back against the Scorchers

11 November 2020

The Sydney Sixers will aim to return to the winners circle when they face the Perth Scorchers this afternoon for the second time this week, squaring off at Blacktown International Sportspark at 2:30pm.

The Sixers lost to the Scorchers by 36 runs on Sunday at Hurstville Oval and ultimately it was a 151-run opening partnership between New Zealand allrounder Sophie Devine and Australian opener Beth Mooney that proved the difference.

Devine made 103, together with Mooney (60), and their wickets will be crucial to a Sixers win on Wednesday afternoon.

Despite the loss, the form of Marizanne Kapp was a real positive on Sunday. The South African allrounder posted her highest WBBL score of 68 not out from 53 balls.

The Sixers are currently third on the ladder with four wins, three points behind the Melbourne Stars, who are on 13 points but having played an extra game.

Missing from the Sixers' squad from the most recent game are bowlers Hayley Silver-Holmes and Lisa Griffith who have foot and ankle injuries respectively.
