A long history of tight contests exists between the two teams, including going head-to-head in two BBL Finals. Sixers allrounder Dan Christian said the 'contrasting styles' of both clubs was likely to lead to another intriguing battle on Saturday night.
"They've played in some finals together and there seems to be a real rivalry there, with contrasting styles too," Christian said.
"The Scorchers generally have a really good pace attack and for the Sixers the slower bowlers have been the effective ones.
"We've had some ripping contests this year as well. We got towelled-up by them over at Optus Stadium and we beat them pretty convincingly here in Canberra.
"Hopefully even though that was a week or so ago, we'll still have some momentum carrying on from there."
