Star off-spinner Steve O’Keefe was named Player of the Match after picking up 9 wickets in New South Wales’ win over Western Australia a fortnight ago.
O’Keefe claimed 4/74 in the Warriors’ first innings, before contributing 57 valuable runs with the bat as the Blues set-up a sizable lead. Peter Nevill also impressed with an unbeaten century.
O’Keefe claimed an impressive haul of 5/52 in the Warriors second innings as the Blues won by an innings and 51 runs.
In the Blues’ most recent outing against Queensland, Sixers captain Mosies Henriques was the standout performer, earning Player of the Match honours.
After both sides were dismissed cheaply in their first innings, Henriques’ second innings knock of 78 on a difficult batting surface at the Gabba helped New South Wales set the Bulls 264 to win.
Daniel Hughes (68) and Jack Edwards (40) also made valuable contributions.
Sean Abbott ripped through Queensland’s batting line-up, taking 5/31 to go with his first innings figures of 3/62, as the Bulls were all out for 89. Henriques’ contribution of 3/7 with the ball was the icing on the cake of the 174-run win.
Meanwhile, Josh Philippe’s innings' of 47 and 53 not out helped WA to a 6-wicket win over South Australia.In the Caribbean, Tom Curran starred for England in their opening T20 international against the West Indies, picking up figures of 4/36. Joe Denly also featured in the match, picking up a wicket and contributing a wicket and 30 runs off 29 balls as England won with 7 balls to spare.
