Sixers on show in Internationals

02 October 2018

Sydney Sixers stars Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy and Ashleigh Gardner donned the green and gold over the weekend for the T20 International series against New Zealand. All three players made an impact with the bat and the ball in the two matches won by Australia.

In the first match at North Sydney Oval, Gardner was impressive with the ball taking two wickets off her three overs.

Perry was also great with the white ball taking the big wicket of Suzie Bates off her first ball in her first over.

In the second match, Perry was brilliant in the field again getting the wicket of Bates at a crucial moment in the game with the help of Healy behind the stumps. Perry also had safe hands under the high ball taking two catches on the boundary early in the game.

Healy also showed off her accuracy with a great run out in the final over of the NZ innings.

While missing out on a score in the first game, Healy made the most of her innings with the top score for the Australian team with 57 runs (off 41 balls). She showcased her striking power with 10 boundaries in the match.

Although Australia has already won the series, they’ll be looking for a whitewash when they face New Zealand on Friday at Manuka Oval in Canberra. The game starts at 7:20pm and will be televised on Channel Seven and Fox Cricket.
