It’s been an exciting couple of days for Sixers supporters, with the capture of teenage spin sensation Lloyd Pope earlier this week.

Avendano, a big hitting 25-year-old, recently showed why his reputation as an explosive batsman continues to grow and why Sixers supporters can look forward to witnessing something special this summer.

Hitting 122 runs off just 63 balls in a Sixers Academy match this week, his performance also included a spectacular 6 sixes in one over.

Avendano, who represents North Sydney and was previously featured on a FOX Sports reality show ‘Cricket Superstar’ is keen to take advantage of every opportunity this summer.

Avendano said “It’s a dream come true to sign for the Sixers. It wasn’t long ago I thought I might not ever make it, so for it to happen now means the absolute world to me.”

“I want to learn as much as I can from some of the best players and coaches in Australia, and be ready to perform on the biggest stage this summer.”

Dan Fallins will join Avendano in a Sixers squad filled with a number of talented youngsters, including recent recruits Jack Edwards (aged 18) and fellow spinner Lloyd Pope (aged 19).

An exciting young leg spinner who took five wickets on his first-class debut against England in a CA XI, Fallins has played the majority of his cricket this summer alongside Steve Smith at Sutherland.

The 22-year old is excited at the prospect of playing in front of the Sixers crowd that he once was a part of, having previously been a Sydney Sixers junior member.

Fallins said “It’s a great feeling to sign for my home team. I was a junior member for Big Bash 01, so to play on the SCG this summer is an awesome thought”

“I'm looking forward to learning from the guys like, Lyon, O’Keefe and new signing Pope and celebrating a few wins and hopefully a premiership with the team!” added Fallins.

Head Coach Greg Shipperd expressed his delight at the double signing “Justin captured our attention initially through some outstanding Sixers Academy performances. Subsequently in grade cricket and Futures Leagues he has confirmed a reputation as a very aggressive and competent clean striker of the ball”.

“Similarly, we have high hopes for Dan Fallins. Dan is regarded highly and is a big spinner of the ball. Along with our other spinners, he provides us with  great options across the extended format this season”.

Both players will join up with their new teammates next month ahead of the season opener against Perth Scorchers at the SCG on Saturday 22 December.
