The 23 year-old will be a familiar face to many supporters who watched him take a five wicket haul against Australia in a One-Day international earlier this year.
The English quick has signed a one-year contract with the team in Magenta and will join an exciting crop of young players in the Sixers squad this summer.
Curran will arrive in Sydney following his inclusion in the T10 tournament with Kerala Knights in Dubai.

Renowned for his death bowling, Curran took 3-33 on his international T20 debut against South Africa. He made his one-day international debut in September 2017 against West Indies, removing Chris Gayle for his maiden ODI scalp.
The 23-year old will link up with fellow England international Joe Denly on the Sixers roster this summer and the England quick is excited at the prospect of playing in-front of the Sixers supporters.
Tom Curran said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the Sydney Sixers for the 2018/2019 Big Bash. Friends and colleagues have told me what a great team environment it is and how passionate the fans are and I’m hugely excited to experience this all for myself.
“I can’t wait to get to Sydney and hopefully help the team have a great season”
The Sydney Sixers begin their campaign with a huge clash against Perth Scorchers at the SCG on Saturday 22 December.
