There are two changes to the group that defeated the ladder leading Melbourne Stars at the SCG on Monday night, with superstar Steve Smith and emerging spinner Ben Manenti coming into the squad.
Smith was a member of the inaugural Sydney Sixers squad, spending three editions of the BBL in Magenta including captaining the victorious BBL|01 squad.
Across 20 matches for the Sixers, Smith has scored 499 runs including four 50’s, with a top score of 65. The runs have come at an average of 31.18 and at a strike rate of 124.75.
Smith has also taken six wickets from 18 overs with an economy rate of just over 8 an over, to go with 15 catches.
The world's best batsman flew into Brisbane yesterday morning after scoring 131 from 132 balls in Australia's ODI loss to India in Bangalore on Sunday night.
Manenti has played five matches this season, taking six wickets in four innings at an average of 18 and an economy rate of a tick over seven runs an over.
The match against the Heat will be followed on Saturday afternoon (January 25) by the Sixers' final regular season home game of BBL|09 with Smith and fellow Test stars Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon all expected to take on the Melbourne Renegades in the club's UV Legends Beach Party game.
