Dothrakis win the UNSW Festival of Cricket Sixers Smash

24 October 2017

The Dothrakis also known as ‘Zero Ducks Given’ win the rain affected UNSW Festival of Cricket, Sixers Smash event on Sunday the 22nd of October at David Phillips Sports Complex.

The Sixers Smash event was held in partnership between UNSW CC and the Sydney Sixers to engage with local and international students. Eight teams took part in the event with many students, male and female experiencing cricket for the very first time.

The Dothrakis won both their matches convincingly before rain stopped play. The Dothrakis are known in the cricket community as ‘Zero Ducks Given’, a team comprising of international students from UNSW, UTS and USYD. Formed in 2016 they’ve dominated the LMS competition in the North East Sydney region and eventually becoming Sydney champions, currently ranked 2nd in Australia.

Captain Muhammad Hani Ajani says that “playing and studying in Australia has been an inspiring experience for their players”. The Dothrakis will progress through to the finals of the Sixers Smash competition.

Four international students were also selected to take part in the Cricket NSW/Sydney Sixers internship program.

The Sixers Smash is supported by StudyNSW:
