Allrounder Moises Henriques led from the front during his side’s BBL|09 success.
The Sixers’ captain scored 267 runs at a strike rate nearing 150, and in the big moments, his captaincy stood the test tactically.
His punishing 72 from just 31 deliveries at the SCG in a rain-shortened match against the Melbourne Stars was a significant turning point.
Henriques’ 72 which included eight sixes, set up a 21-run win for the Sixers who would go on to defeat the Stars twice more in The Qualifier and the BBL Final.
After leading the Sixers to two previous BBL Finals, Henriques secured his first BBL title as skipper at the SCG in February 2020. He was also part of the BBL|01 championship winning team.
His insane ramp for six during the Super Over win against the Sydney Thunder at the SCG was another highlight.
Moises also became a Dad for the first time during the season!
Henriques was named Cricket Australia’s joint Sheffield Shield Player of the Year for 2019/20 with Nic Maddinson after scoring 512 runs at 51.2 during the Blues 47th Shield title.
In 205 T20 matches, he has scored 3,775 runs and maintained a strike rate of 127. His fast-medium pace has delivered 108 Twenty20 wickets.
Moises enjoyed success in the most prominent of the worldwide T20 leagues – the Indian Premier League – in 2016 with the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
His inspirational leadership, on and off the field, drive much of what the Sixers are about!
