The GOAT is now a Big Bash champion and signed up for BBL|10!!
The off spinner returned at the business end of BBL|09, playing the final six matches and taking five wickets, Lyon was an integral member of the Sixers claiming the title.
He joined regular Australian stars Steve Smith and Josh Hazlewood in the side for the back end of BBL|09.
With availability dependent on national selection, Lyon has been part of the Sixers family since joining the club from the Adelaide Strikers in 2014.
Statistically the greatest off-spinner of all-time in Test cricket for Australia, Lyon sits third on the list of leading Australian wicket takers in the longer format behind the great Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath.
The achievement has earned him the nickname “The GOAT” by his teammates and Australian cricket fans.

In six seasons with the Sixers, Lyon has claimed 39 wickets at the excellent average of 18.23 with his appearances limited due to national duties.
His best figures for the Sixers came in BBL|05 returning 5-23 from 3.5 overs against the Hobart Hurricanes at the SCG.
Lyon is also one of the best fielders in the world at all levels of the game, in all formats - T20, One-Day and Test cricket.
Before his emergence as one of Australia’s best ever spin bowlers, Lyon worked as a curator at Manuka Oval, Canberra, which took him to Adelaide where he played with the Strikers and South Australia.
