Sixers excel in Round Two of WNCL

On Saturday, the NSW Breakers chased down a big total posted by Western Australia on their home turf. Sixers spinner Lauren Smith took the most wickets in the match with 3/52 with Sarah Aley close behind with 2/31. Aley was also a stand out in the field with a catch and a run-out.

Sixers opener Alyssa Healy got NSW off to a perfect start and unfortunately fell just short of century with 99 runs (89). She smacked 14 boundaries in her Player of the Match performance. Ellyse Perry was not out with 45 runs (49) at the finish to see NSW get over the line with seven wickets in hand.

On Sunday, NSW proved to be too good on the day against the ACT Meteors when they came head-to-head. Perry continued her brilliant Ashes form with a Player of the Match showing with the bat. Her outstanding 127 not out (120) featured 13 fours and 3 sixes in the innings.

Sixers international Marizanne Kapp was damaging for the ACT with the ball. She took an impressive four wickets, the most in the game, including the key wicket of Sixers teammate Healy.

Aley was terrific again for NSW with 3/26 which held off an ACT victory by 97 runs.

Sixers players Emily Leys, Angela Reakes, Erin Burns and Kapp are playing their second match of the week for ACT today against WA.
