The Sydney Sixers are proud to announce a renewed partnership with North Sydney Council, securing North Sydney Oval as the home of the Sixers’ WBBL side for a further five years.
One of the country’s most iconic and storied venues, North Sydney Oval has served as the home ground for the Sixers women’s team for over a decade.
Widely regarded as the spiritual home of women’s cricket in Australia, the facility plays host to variety of sports and events throughout the year, providing the stage for countless unforgettable moments in the club’s history.
From remarkable performances to record-breaking feats, fans at the venue have been treated to brilliance from some of the sport’s biggest names, including Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy and Ashleigh Gardner, with the latter’s explosive 114 (from just 52 balls) remaining one of the league’s most skillful innings to date.
The venue has also showcased some of the world’s best international talent, including Sophie Ecclestone and Amelia Kerr, with the WBBL’s #1 Draft pick, Sophia Dunkley also set to make her debut at the ground this season.
In a win for Sixers fans, the highly anticipated Sydney Smash, against crosstown rivals Sydney Thunder, returns to North Sydney Oval this year, following two seasons at the SCG as part of the league’s ‘Stadium Series’.
Sixers General Manager, Rachael Haynes said the club is proud to continue calling the historic venue home.
