Sixers hang on in Hobart

The Sixers have kept their season alive after a nerve-wracking three-wicket win over the Hurricanes in Hobart.

Lauren Cheatle continued her outstanding form, picking up a pair of wickets – taking her to 19 for the season. Maitlan Brown returned to the attack, getting the crucial wickets of Elyse Villani and Heather Graham.

While Ellyse Perry got the Sixers off to a flying start, a collapse of the top order had the team on the back foot. Needing 30 off 18, Mathilda Carmichael took the game by the horns, hitting consecutive boundaries to keep the Sixers in the hunt.

Settling at the crease, Carmichael guided the Sixers into the final over, where Kate Peterson (10no) hit a single off the last ball to secure the victory.
