Sixers welcome Emma Mannix-Geeves

The Sydney Sixers continue to build their roster ahead of WBBL|11, signing wicketkeeper-batter Emma Manix-Geeves.

The 25-year-old Tasmanian joins the Sixers from the Hobart Hurricanes after seven matches and an impressive run of form in domestic competitions, including a strong showing at this year’s T20 Max in Queensland. Representing Valley, she finished as the competition’s sixth-highest run scorer, highlighted by a 73(56) and a notable 46(45) in the semifinal.

A proud Palawa woman, Manix-Geeves has also represented the Australian Indigenous Women’s Team, adding to a resume that continues to grow across formats.

A key part of the Tasmanian Tigers’ history-making WNCL three-peat, highlighted by her century in the 2021–22 Final, the right-hand bat and wicketkeeper has scored more than 1100 runs and completed 51 dismissals behind the stumps.

Rising through the ranks at Launceston’s Riverside Cricket Club and the Greater Northern Raiders, Manix-Geeves has also been a standout at Premier Cricket level. She was named in the CTPL Women’s Team of the Year in 2023–24 and is a three-time Kim Fazackerly Medallist, most recently in 2024-25.

Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes said Manix-Geeves’ signing added both talent and character to the group.

“We’re delighted to welcome Emma to the Sixers. Her performances at both a domestic level and with the Australian Indigenous Women’s Team show the quality she brings as a wicketkeeper and batter.

Emma is someone who adds character and depth to our group and we’re looking forward to seeing the impact she can make in pink this season.”

Manix-Geeves said the chance to join the Sixers was one she couldn’t wait to embrace.

“I’m really excited about the season and grateful to the Sixers for the opportunity. To have the chance to pull on the pink and be part of such a proud club is something I’m really looking forward to.

There are so many world-class players in this group and I'm looking forward to learning from them, soaking up the environment and contributing in any way I can.”
