The Sydney Sixers are proud to launch their First Nations Round kit for WBBL & BBL teams, designed by proud Wiradjuri woman Lua Pellegrini.

The Sydney Sixers will wear this First Nations kit in First Nations Round across the WBBL & BBL.

The Sydney Sixers will host their WBBL First Nations Round Home Match on the 20th of November against the Melbourne Stars in the WBBL and on the 5th of January at our annual Coffs Harbour match against the Brisbane Heat.

The Sydney Sixers host a women’s and men’s First Nations match in early 2026 when the First Nations Sixers & First Nation Thunder sides play off in an exhibition match prior to the National Indigenous Cricket Championships in April.

Sydney Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes said the club was thrilled once again to commission award winning Wiradjuri artist Lua Pellegrini to design our First Nations Round kit.

“We would like to thank Lua (Pellegrini) for her amazing design for our jerseys this year.

“Lua (Pellegrini) has worked with our club previously to design and develop jerseys for our First Nations Rounds and we are pleased to have her onboard again this Summer.

“The Sydney Sixers are working hard to further Reconciliation in action across our club, as a community leader we have a responsibility to lead to way in amplifying Indigenous voices, stories and culture.

“The Sydney Sixers acknowledge the lands and waterways of the Cammeraygal, Gadigal and Gumbaynggirr countries where we play our home matches at the North Sydney Oval and Sydney Cricket Ground. We acknowledge their Elders past and present and also acknowledge all First Nations people and their ongoing contribution to the game of cricket.”

Artist Explanation

This artwork reflects the deep importance of the ocean across the lands of the Sixers’ three home grounds -the SCG on Gadigal Country, North Sydney Oval on Cammeraygal Country, and Coffs International Stadium on Gumbaynggirr Country.

The ‘U’ shapes symbolise people gathering near the water, a significant aspect of Country for these communities and a site of connection.

The ocean and surrounding waterways, including estuaries, have long been vital food sources for these communities.

At the heart of the design, three circles represent the Sixers’ home grounds, each surrounded by the Sixers community who support and uplift our players.
