Sixers stick with same squad against Hobart Hurricanes

The Sydney Sixers have confirmed an unchanged squad heading to Hobart for tomorrow’s WBBL clash against the undefeated Hobart Hurricanes.

In their First Nations Round fixture last night, the Sixers were overwhelmed by the Melbourne Stars, who piled up 219/4 in 20 overs, powered by a blistering 135 off 74 balls from former Australian captain Meg Lanning.

Speaking after the game, Sixers WBBL head coach Matthew Mott expressed his disappointment, but also urged the team to move on swiftly as they prepare to play in Hobart tomorrow morning.

“I actually thought our defensive fielding was probably the highlight of our night.

“(Meg Lanning’s) one of the world’s best ever players and if you get it wrong you’re going to get hurt.

“We’re two and two… but at the end of the day you don’t get time to really digest it too much.

“We’ve got a lot of senior players who have played a lot of cricket, you have just got to dust yourself off and make sure you’re ready for the fight.”
