Dwarshuis commits to two more years with Sydney Sixers

Sydney Sixers fan‑favourite Ben Dwarshuis has officially extended his stay in Magenta for another two seasons, reaffirming his importance to the club both on and off the field.

Dwarshuis boasts an impressive 117-match Big Bash League career with the Sixers.

Throughout his career with the Sixers, Dwarshius has been instrumental with both the bat and ball leading the Sixers to many legendary wins.

Over the course of his BBL tenure, he has scored 602 runs at a strike rate of 145.06, and has remained not out in nearly half of his innings (29 times).

The left-arm bowler has taken 148 wickets, with a standout best of 5/21 off 23 balls in the 2024 BBL Qualifier to book the Sixers a home final.

Dwarshius earned an inclusion in the BBL | 14 Team of the Tournament and BBL|14 MVP, as voted by members, following his stunning season with the Sydney Sixers.

Beyond his BBL success, Dwarshuis has represented Australia internationally, earning six One-Day International caps and 13 T20 Internationals including the 2025 Champions Trophy, where he finished as Australia’s leading wicket-taker.

Sydney Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes said the club was thrilled to secure Dwarshuis for another two seasons.

“Ben is a true legend of our club — not just for his extraordinary talent on the field, but for the leadership, professionalism and passion he brings into the club every day.

“We’re delighted to lock him in for another two years.

“He’s a player of immense calibre who consistently delivers for the Sixers and inspires the next generation of cricketers.”

With Dwarshuis committed to Magenta, Sixers fans can look forward to more match-winning innings and unforgettable moments in the seasons ahead.
