Maitlan Brown stays in Magenta!

Fast bowling allrounder Maitlan Brown isn’t going anywhere!

The Sydney Sixers have confirmed that Brown has signed a contract extension, keeping her in Magenta until 2028.

Brown has been an asset for the Sixers since joining the squad in the 2021‑22 season, showing why she’s one of the team’s key pace bowlers.

Across her WBBL career to date she has played 114 matches, taken 85 wickets at an average of 25.38, with a best bowling performance of 3 for 16 and maintained a tidy economy rate of 7.12 runs per over.

Her lower-order batting also adds depth in WBBL games she has scored nearly 728 total runs at a strike rate of 110.47, showing she can contribute with the bat too.

Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes said having Brown back on board is a boost for the whole team both on and off the field.

“Maito (Brown) is a superstar in our squad and someone the whole team looks up to,” Haynes said.

“She’s got speed, skill and a serious knack for big moments.

“But it’s not just what she does with the bat and ball — Maito’s energy, positivity and support for our younger players makes her an absolute standout.

“We’re thrilled she’s staying in Magenta!”

Superstar quick Maitlan Brown said she was pumped to continue playing for the Sydney Sixers.

“I’m so excited to continue with the Sixers,” Brown said.

“This club has been such a huge part of my journey as a cricketer.

“The team, the atmosphere, the fans — everything about being part of this squad makes me want to give 110% every time. I can’t wait to help the team chase more wins in the future!”

With Brown’s speed and fiery spirit leading the charge, fans can expect fireworks every time she runs in to bowl.

The Sydney Sixers signed Maitlan Brown prior to the embargo period for the Weber WBBL.
