The Sydney Sixers are leaving the big smoke and heading to regional and rural areas for the annual Cricket New South Wales Country Blitz!
This initiative is designed to bring our world’s best Big Bash players to country communities and cricket lovers across the state.
Sixers WBBL and BBL players will visit regions from across New South Wales with plenty of cricketing fun and selfies on offer for the fans who come along.
Local cricket club registrations will be open and our players will be encouraging as many people to sign up to play cricket this Summer.
Players will visit regions and local government areas including the Far North Coast, the North Coast, Northern Inland New South Wales, the Hunter, and Newcastle — spanning the Sixers’ heartland.
Our regional and rural fans often travel to support us and we’re returning the favour by bringing Magenta to them.
Sydney Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes said Country Blitz is a great opportunity to connect with and celebrate fans across the Sixers zones of New South Wales.
“Country Blitz is one of the highlights of our year because it gives us the chance to connect directly with the communities that support us so passionately from across the state,” Haynes said.
“Our regional and rural fans are such an important part of the Sixers family, and taking our players into these areas is a great way to give back and help grow the game at a grassroots level.”
“We’re proud to represent our wider community in Magenta, and this initiative allows us to strengthen those connections right across our heartland.”
