Australia are world champions once again, defeating hosts England by seven wickets at Lord’s on July 5 to claim a record seventh ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title.
Chasing 151, the Australians reached 153-3 with 17 balls to spare, completing the highest successful run chase in a Women’s T20 World Cup final.
Sydney Sixers stars Ashleigh Gardner and Ellyse Perry were part of the victorious Australian side, with Perry adding a seventh T20 World Cup title to her glittering career.
Gardner was also involved in the successful chase as Australia capped an unbeaten tournament campaign.
Beth Mooney was named Player of the Match after anchoring the run chase with a superb 64 from 49 balls, while Phoebe Litchfield added 48 in a match-winning 100-run partnership as Australia sealed another famous World Cup triumph.
