The Sydney Sixers are thrilled to announce fan-favourite Chris Jordan has re-signed on a one-year deal for KFC BBL|16 and will return to Magenta this summer.
One of world cricket's most accomplished T20 players, Jordan returns to the Sixers after a previous stint with the club between 2021 and 2023, during which he quickly became a popular figure among teammates and fans alike.
Born in Barbados before moving to England as a teenager, the 37-year-old has forged a remarkable global career.
A veteran of 138 international caps for England, Jordan has enjoyed one of the most decorated white-ball careers of his generation, claiming 175 international wickets, including 108 in T20Is.
Jordan played a key role in England's triumphant 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup campaign under the guidance of then England Head Coach and current Sydney Sixers Head Coach Matthew Mott.
Away from the international arena, Jordan has enjoyed success in leading T20 Franchise competitions around the world, including The Hundred, the Caribbean Premier League, the Pakistan Super League and the Indian Premier League.
Jordan returns to the Sixers with an impressive Big Bash record, having claimed 59 wickets and scored 340 runs across 65 matches.
Jordan has previously played for the Adelaide Strikers, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Thunder and the Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL since 2016.
Sydney Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes said Jordan's return would provide a significant boost to the club.
"Chris is one of the most respected T20 players in world cricket, and we're absolutely delighted to welcome him back to the Sixers," Haynes said.
"He brings proven international quality, tremendous experience and outstanding leadership.
"Our members and fans loved having him here previously, and we're excited to see him back in Magenta this summer."
Jordan said returning to Sydney was an opportunity he was eager to take.
"I loved my previous time with the Sixers and I'm incredibly excited to be coming back," Jordan said.
"The club has a proud history, a great fan base and a group that is always competing for championships.
"I'm looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new ones and hopefully helping bring plenty of success to the Sixers this season."
Jordan's signing further strengthens a Sixers squad preparing for an exciting new era in BBL|16, with one of the competition's most experienced and decorated T20 performers set to once again call the SCG home.
