Sixers WBBL players are heading back-to-school for the annual School Blitz this week and giving every visited school the chance to win a free four-week Sixers clinic.
WBBL superstars have been visiting schools around their home ground of North Sydney Oval this week, giving bowling tips, encouraging kids to sign up for Summer and driving some healthy competition between schools in the region.
How School Blitz competition works
Each school receiving a player visit has its own personalised ticket code to purchase tickets to Sixers WBBL matches at North Sydney Oval.
The school that sells the most tickets using its code wins a four-week Sixers clinic, delivered by the Sixers at the school, completely free for the school and for every participant.
Every school getting a player visit this week are in the running:
- Neutral Bay Public School
- Linfield Public School
- Mona Vale Public School
- Collaroy Plateau Public School
- Artarmon Public School
- Narrabeen Lakes Public School
- Northern Beaches PSSA Girls Cricket Team schools
Among the players taking part is Sixers pace bowler Courtney Sippel, who has made a strong start to the T20 Spring Challenge and said she enjoyed the opportunity to connect with local students during the tournament.
“It’s been nice to get out during Spring Challenge,” Sippel said.
“It’s a good opportunity, while we have a couple of days off between games, to visit some schools, show our faces and get some kids to some games during Big Bash.”
The visits come on the back of a strong start to the tournament for Sippel, who says it has been special to reunite with her Sixers teammates after representing Tasmania during the recent WNCL matches.
“It’s been good to run around with the girls again and reconnect with them after being in our own state colours,” she said.
“And to top it off, it’s been nice to have some good performances.”
